Canyon Heights Academy was founded in July of 2000 with the intent
to bring the pedagogy of Integral Formation to the Santa Clara
valley. The school opened its doors in August of 2000 in a
subleased portion of a former public school in Mountain View with 6
students in grades K to 3rd, expanding to to 5th grade and ending
2001 with 12 students. In 2001, Canyon Heights opened the preschool
program and saw enrollment grow to over 35 students. In 2002,
Canyon Heights relocated to a portion of the former Blackford High
School campus in San Jose and received initial recognition as a
Catholic school from the Diocese of San Jose in 2003. In 2004,
Canyon Heights Academy made its final move to our current campus,
the former Hazelwood School in Campbell. In that same year, Canyon
Heights received full accreditation from the Western Association of
Schools and Colleges (WASC) and full recognition as a private
Catholic school by the Diocese of San Jose. In 2006, with enough
enrollment to form two sections of Kindergarten, we began our
program of gender specific education. Since relocating
to the permanent campus, Canyon Heights as seen enrollment increase
30% to 50% a year to nearly 200 students, completed extensive
renovations to the Chapel building and is currently completing the
campus master plan that will see the construction of a gymnasium
and lab facilities on the campus.
