What is ConQuest?
ConQuest is a National network of leadership programs, clubs, and camps for boys and young men 5 - 16 years of age. ConQuest trains boys to become self-disciplined and confident young men; Catholic leaders who posses moral integrity and are committed to improving the communities in which they live.
ConQuest is based on Catholic principles of spiritual development. Its programs are designed to instill virtue, develop character and encourage spiritual growth, while offering its participants challenging physical, intellectual, and spiritual activities within an atmosphere of adventure.
Recognizing the obstacles and false ideals that youth encounter in today's culture, ConQuest empowers boys to face and overcome these difficulties rather than ignore and succumb to them. ConQuest organizes exciting adventures and challenges, and through these experiences boys learn that human and spiritual development can go hand-in-hand with many of their favorite activities.
ConQuest, through its athletic, educational and creative programs, provides a wholesome atmosphere in which boys naturally develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, their brother and friend. This bond will awaken in each boy a desire to serve as His apostle. It will motivate him to serve Church, home, community, and school. In short, the program is designed to produce mature young men who live their Catholic life authentically.
ConQuest accomplishes its mission through a network of year-round clubs and summer camps directed by Catholic leaders who are committed to the highest Christian ideals. In order to aid the family in guiding a young boy through the process of becoming a mature young man, ConQuest utilizes a pedagogy specifically designed to provide an integral human and spiritual formation. All activities promote friendship, fun and formation in a wholesome, structured and challenging environment.
ConQuest Junior Program (Grades 2-5)
In the Junior Boys Program, the theme of Jesus as our Brother and Friend is used to inspire each boy to establish a natural relationship with Christ. Christ taught us how to love through His example of obedience to his Father. Using this example, the boy learns that obedience is good and that being obedient out of love for God will help him to become a better person. The program reinforces basic elements of friendship, such as trust, loyalty and sincerity.
The ConQuest Club (Grades 6-8)
The ConQuest Club uses a program of formation called ECYD (Education, Culture and Youth Development). In ECYD, the adolescent finds a happy, healthy and attractive environment where they will form themselves in the fundamental aspects of their personality. I n order to complement the family, ECYD develops an internal dynamic of intensive team life, made up of a natural group of friends. Through this environment, they develop Catholic leadership and project themselves in works of social and cultural volunteerism, according to their age.
