Parent Committees

Although parents are not required to volunteer at Canyon Heights, service to the school community is a key element in forming our community and building our school. Canyon Heights' excellence and success is due in no small measure to the great generosity of our parents. The unique spirit and sense of community that pervades Canyon Heights comes from the willingness of our parents to give of themselves in service to our children and to each other. Over 75% of our parents serve on at least one of the following committees.

Events Committee

This committee is entrusted with coordinating parent participation in all-school parties (such All Saints), school social events (such as the Fall Kickoff), school programs (such as the social that follows the Christmas Program and Spring Play) and provides input and assistance to the school on selecting and coordinating after school programs. The events committee also coordinates and organizes school and parent social events.

Auction Committee

This committee oversees the Spring Gala and Auction. Areas of work include item solicitation, donor solicitation, decorations, item arrangement and the development of the program.

Annual Appeal Committee

This committee oversees the school’s Annual Appeal Drive. This group of parents works on the solicitation of small groups of parents and ensures the recognition of all who contribute to the school’s continued success through the Annual Appeal Drive.

Recruiting Committee

This committee provides assistance to the Recruiting Director in promoting Canyon Heights within the local community, organizing and staffing the Open House events, overseeing the Buddy Program which provides mentoring to our new families, organizing the Bay Area Parent’s Best of the Best voting campaign, writing stories for the Canyon Heights Herald, our school newsletter, designing promotional materials and general media coverage.

Sacristy Committee

Wednesday Folder Helper

Help is needed to assemble and distribute the Wednesday folder. Your help is very important and can be done in relatively short shifts. This can also be done according to your availability and schedule. We are looking for several parents to assist us throughout the school year.

Yearbook Committee

This committee is responsible for putting together the annual yearbook.  All members participate in taking pictures, editing photos, creating pages, and adding the artistic touches.   Meetings are arranged with the members’ availability in mind.
